BRYANSTON
The studio in Bryanston is near the Sandton Clinic. Teacher Elise Krog has been teaching many forms of dance for over 15 years and now only focuses on Social Ballroom and Latin. She wrote the syllabus that everyone teaches so all studios are guaranteed to keep the FUN happening.
Classes are held on a Wednesday and Thursday evening in Bryanston. Classes are all group lessons (private lessons can be booked separately). We learn a combination of Ballroom and Latin American. Dances taught include cha-cha, salsa, waltz, quickstep, foxtrot, hussle, tango, jive, samba, rumba. The same group of people are in class together and we all learn together slowly with lots of time to practise in class.
LAST NEW CLASS - 2008:
Bryanston
Friday 7:30-9:00 pm
New Ballroom and Latin American dance course for beginners starting Friday 3 October - Friday 24 October. Cost R1500 for 4 X 90m min group classes and 2 X 60 min private lessons. Dances taught: Quickstep, Waltz, Hustle and Cha Cha Cha with many variations in each dance. This class is for couples only and is an excellent starter course for engaged couples to prepare you for your first dance at your wedding. Once your classes are finished you can join in the Wednesday 8:15-9:15 group class from November if you wish to continue with classes. To book CLICK HERE..
Ballroom - Dances taught in class include Foxtrot, hussle, salsa, rumba, cha-cha, tango, waltz. We start with the foxtrot the first lesson then carry on with the hussle the next lesson after doing some revision of the previous lesson. We then learn the waltz and move onto the cha-cha and salsa in the next few lessons. We don't learn a lot in each lesson but spend quite a lot of time practising so that you can remember what you learnt and apply it when you go out and party.
Hip-hop - Each lesson we do a warm up and then we do continue with the dance. I teach a new dance every 6 weeks or so and that is when new people can join in the class. The routines are complex but we move slowly so that you are able to learn the moves properly. The classes are good exercise once quite a lot of the routine has been learnt but the thing that I concentrate on the most in class is teaching interesting moves. Classes are an excellent stress release as you cannot worry about your problems in class because you need to concentrate on what is being done. You will leave class feeling refreshed and relaxed.
